Over many years of art-making, I’ve accumulated an array of miscellaneous pieces that don’t always belong to the other bodies of work in this site. Now, for my sake as much as yours, I’m cleaning out the garage:

Random Iris art: The batch of photos that led to the Iris Series generated numerous other pieces, including one globetrotting work for Up Our Sleeve. OK, so who doesn’t love pretty flowers?

Mantlepiece: This one-off marked the beginning (and the end) of a series combining found images with the same process used in the Iris Series. I may follow through with this concept yet, but don’t hold your breath.

The TV Montages: I began this series of photomontages after an obsessive evening grabbing screenshots while channel-surfing cable TV. I bailed after deciding my reliance on the grammatical use of the second person made them bad Barbara Kruger knock-offs. Warning: may contain irises.

Glass Jar prototypes: Before assembling the Glass Jars into systems, I had been making these “singles” as a way to get to know the medium while formulating a case study for turning trash into cash. No irises in sight. No cash either.

Early paintings: Now here’s a blast from the past. Three undated pieces, ca. 1982-86. Try not to laugh.

Found photos: I didn’t take these snapshots, but I collected them back in the ‘90s and they became a major influence on my subsequent photography. Not exactly Andy’s cookie jars, but classy joints like the Met and the Getty show this stuff now, go figure.

By the way, the contents of this page may fluctuate as I either sell off things shown here, add new material, or find less-embarassing juvenilia to display.
